The Warriors Varsity travelled to Georgetown this past weekend where they went 4-0.
In game 1, Erick Walker allowed just 2 hits and Conner Lydiak pitched 2 no-hit innings for the save in a 3-0 combined shutout of Georgetown (ranked 8th in 5A by TXHSB). Tristen Lutz turned 3 walks into 2 runs as the Warriors used a combination of bunts and timely hits to score.
In game 2, Nick Skeffington scattered 6 hits allowing just 1 run in a 3-1, complete game win over Rudder. Spencer Johnston went 3-3 with 1 RBI and Josh Avery added 2 RBI’s to provide the offensive firepower.
Cody Bullard got the start in game 3 allowing just 1 run on 3 hits in a complete game effort. The Warriors took advantage of an error in the 7th inning to push across the winning run after rallying from a 1-0 deficit.
Kenneth Waller took the mound in the final game of the weekend against Round Rock and despite allowing no earned runs left the game after 3 2/3 innings down by 2 runs. Maddux Miller came to finish the inning and the Warrior offense responded with 3 runs in the 5th to take the lead for good 5-4.
