A TRUE WARRIOR
We hold our annual alumni weekend in remembrance of one of our own Warriors; B.G. Wilson. B.G. was an All-State middle infielder at Martin High School with a .422 batting average and 31 runs scored his Senior year. He graduated 6th in his class, with honors, in 1992. He went on to attend UTA on a baseball/academic scholarship and was an Academic All American for 2 years. B.G. earned his Master’s Degree in in Electrical Engineering from UTA and went on to a wonderful career in engineering in Fort Worth. In November of 1998, he was diagnosed with primary liver cancer with 3 to 6 months to live. Like a true Warrior, B.G. fought had but lost his battle to cancer 2 years later in January 2001.
This young man encompasses what our baseball program stands for, in the words of his wife, “Striving for excellence was a habit for him, a spiritual practice. A way of living his life quietly and with integrity. His humility and goodness naturally shone a light on him”.
