Updates for the week of March 29th! Due to testing at Martin, Tuesdays games have been moved to Wednesday. Same places and times! Todays JV and Freshman games at Sam Houston have been called due to the rain.
The Martin Warriors struck first but couldn’t hold on, losing to the Lamar Vikings in the district opener 2-1 despite a strong outing by Eric Walker who pitched 7 scoreless innings (6 K’s). Next Game: 7:00 Friday @ Martin versus Sam Houston
JV started district play with 7-0 victory over Lamar on Thursday night at Lamar High School. Jacob Tamayo struck out 3 in 5 1/3 innings while Spencer Johnston got the final 5 outs (2 K’s) for a combined shut out. Short, Mason, Hall & Davis get 2 hits each. Next game: March 20th at 6:00pm at Sam Houston

Mother Nature (and Punxsutawney Phil) have conspired to put a damper on our weekend baseball plans! Both the JV and Frosh tourneys have been cancelled due to the weather and field conditions. The forecast looks good for next weekend, so keep your fingers crossed!
Due to weather and field conditions the Jennifer Tyde Tournament has been cancelled. Although we won’t be able to take the field we would like to express our sincere and heart felt thanks to Steve and Cherry Tyde for their generous contribution to our Martin Baseball traditions and this wonderful tournament.
